Partner search: mobility project within Leonardo da Vinci

Background
Piteå is situated in the Gulf of Bothnia, 900 km north of
Stockholm. The municipality has approx 41 000 inhabitants and can
best be described as a small town known for it's shopping, tourism
and paper mills. The unemployment rate among young people is high
and the department for labour market and adult education works with
a variety of activities for various target groups. One of the
target groups is young people that need help to improve the social
inclusion and getting closer to the regular labour market.
Project description
We are planning to search a Leonardo da Vinci mobility
project in the beginning of 2011. We are looking for partners
within Leonardo da Vinci that can host our youngsters (age between
18-24 years) during three weeks time for work placement. The
department works with a limited budget for travel so in order to
make ends meet we wish that future partners are located nearby a
big airport.
Many of the participants in our mobility project have little or no experience of going abroad and are also often low skilled with limited experience of work life. We have seen that going abroad for a couple of weeks for work placement can make a big difference for these youngsters on their journey to become independent citizens
