The EU's first Social Progress Cities Summit took place in Umeå 2019. This year´s conference will continue on last year's discussion about how the EU Social Progress Index can help cities work together to improve social progress.
One of the themes will be on how European cities can develop strategies to improve the real quality of life for their citizens, while also being a driver towards climate neutrality. Speakers include Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mohamed Ridouani, Mayor of Leuven, winner of European Capital of Innovation 2020 and Michael Green (TBC), Social Imperative. Moreover, the new edition of the European Social Progress Index (launched 2 Dec) will be presented.
This year's conference will be digital, and all interested actors are welcome to participate.
