In March 2025, Europaforum Northern Sweden (EFNS) published a report on EU’s cohesion policy, the EU’s regional policy, and its importance for development in northern Sweden. A summarised version of the report is now available, highlighting cohesion policy as EU’s key investment tool for promoting economic growth and employment at local and regional level. The report also demonstrates how EU funding of regional development projects concretely contributes to strengthened competitiveness and viable communities.
ERIAFF takes a further step into Europe’s forest policy as the network is now granted observer status in Forest Europe. With this new role, regional forest and rural perspectives are strengthened, and for the northern forest regions it represents an opportunity to influence the development of a sustainable and competitive European forestry sector.
