EU Arctic Forum 2019 in Umeå

The EU Arctic Forum 2019 will take place in Umeå in the region of Västerbotten during the 3-4 of October. It is organised by the European Commission, the European External Action Service, and the Government of Sweden. Register before the 27 of September!

High Representative/Vice President Federica Mogherini, Commissioner Karmenu Vella, and the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström will host the event.

The EU Arctic Forum will build on the achievements of the EU Arctic policy in recent years and will provide a strategic outlook for the years to come. The focus will be on international cooperation, the climate-environment-ocean nexus, sustainable investments, and connectivity in the Arctic. A broad range of stakeholders representing governments, international organisations, civil society, industry, research, indigenous and local communities will feed into the discussion. 

The EU Arctic Forum will include several keynote addresses and five panel sessions on 3 October.  The Annual Arctic Indigenous Peoples' Dialogue will follow in the morning of 4 October.
