An ambitious EU Arctic Policy to realise the European Green Deal

The CPMR Baltic Sea Commission is pleased to invite you to the second meeting of the Arctic Task Force, which will be held on 28 June 2021 from 09:00 to 11:30 CET. The meeting, co-organised by Mr Tomas Mörtsell, Vice-President of the CPMR Baltic Sea Commission (Region Västerbotten, Sweden), and MEP Urmas Paet, Chair of the European Parliament Arctic Friendship Group, will be an opportunity to discuss and reflect, from different stakeholder perspectives, on the future EU Arctic Policy currently under revision.

Arctic issues are more important than ever before, for environmental, economic, social and geopolitical reasons. The current revision process of the EU Arctic Policy is an excellent opportunity to strengthen the place of the EU in the Arctic but also to strengthen the place of the Arctic in the EU. With an ambitious EU Arctic policy and investments in sustainable regional development, the Arctic has potential to unlock innovations that can lead the green transition and play a key role in the realisation of the EU Green Deal.
