Welcome to the first Platform North Forum, Luleå
On the 12 and 13 of February 2025, the first annual Platform North forum will be held in Luleå. Platform North is a newly created platform with the aim of strengthening collaboration and co-planning between Sweden, Norway and Finland in the development of transport infrastructure, with a focus on the northern parts. The work is coordinated by the Swedish Transport Administration Northern Region.
Forum theme: The importance of Nordic cooperation in the North, with focus on transport infrastructure.
Platform North addresses several focus areas: industrial initiatives for green transition, NATO, supply and readiness issues, and climate objectives. The work in 2024–2025 will touch on themes such as financing, military mobility and a common transport plan.
The Swedish Minister for Infrastructure and Housing, Andreas Carlson participates as a speaker during the conference. The Swedish Transport Administration's Director General Roberto Maiorana also participates. The conference will be co-chaired by the European Coordinator for the Scandinavian-Mediterranean TEN-T Corridor Mr. Pat Cox, and the European Coordinator for the TEN-T North Sea Baltic Corridor, Ms. Catherine Trautmann.
